“I met Annie Haslam a number of years ago by way of introduction by the famous artist, Roger Dean. He told me that Annie was doing some interesting work as a painter. He had even purchased a painting from her at an exhibition. Roger, whose work I have represented since 1990, has a discerning eye and high artistic standards. His endorsement carried much weight. I called Annie. I was touched by her humility and buoyant personality as we got to know each other. I asked if she would email jpegs of her work, which she did. When I opened the files I was compelled to call her right away to let her know how wonderful they were. I began a career as an art dealer in 1979 in San Francisco and, for a year, in Geneva. Over those years I represented and sold the work of European and American masters of the 19th and 20th centuries. My home is filled with art and artifacts acquired over nearly fifty years and among these I love the five paintings I purchased from Annie since we first met.”
